Strengths
Founded in 1918, Chung-Ang University is a private university with 30,000 students, including 2,500 foreign students. The College of Business Administration, historically the first in Korea, offers lectures in English and is the 5th best in the country.
In Korea, the university stands at the 3rd place for internationalization (a total of 524 partner universities !) And 7th for academics.

You could refer to “1112” or “2023spring” in different windows. The first number of class No. means the level of study.
1-4 means undergraduate, 6-7 means Master level and 8.9 means PH.D. If the first number is “0”, it means it is the general courses.

Campus
Chung-Ang University has two campuses, one in Seoul, the second one in Anseong. You will study and stay at the Seoul campus which is ran by more than 100 student societies and associations.

The university will assign you a mentor, a Korean student who will help you in your different procedures.
You are allowed to work 20h / week, but only after 6 months of stay.
Plan around € 250 to buy all books. And also plan 60 € / month for public transportation.

Procedures
ID Card or passport (compulsory for destinations outside the EU) valid for six months after your return date.
D-2 student visa mandatory. Single entry visa and renewal of residence permit after 90 days. On your arrival, you will need do the necessary procedures to obtain a resident permit (ARC-Alien Registration Card). Once obtained, this card is valid for the total duration of your studies and allows you to leave / re-enter Korea.
International insurance compulsory. It is always better to subscribe to the university’s insurance.
Once there, you will need to be tested for tuberculosis before moving into the dormitories.
Accommodation
On campus, a single room costs € 200 per month or € 150 per month if shared for two, in apartments for foreign students only.
You will need to suscribe to a meal plan, i.e. half board – 35 meals / month. Cost: 60 euros / month.
