Minxiong is a rural town with a population of over 70,000. It is the most populous district in Chiayi County and consists of 28 villages.
Mixiong Township is located in the Chianan plain surrounded by low hills. The climate is humid and hot.
If you have the possibility, we advise you to move and visit also the rest of the island.
In terms of nature, the Taroko Gorge is a small paradise where you can see impressive gorges of height, incredible blue water and rich vegetation.
Located just north of Taipei, Yangmingshan National Park is worth a visit. There, you will be in the middle of nature: you will feel the sulphur of volcanoes, you will see beautiful flowers, hot springs, lakes, mountains…
The nature is incredible in Taiwan, but don’t miss the historical part of this country either. To see old houses, we suggest the cities of Tainan and the capital Taipei. In Tainan, there is for example the Shennong street, with traditional houses, of Taiwanese (with bars on the windows), Japanese or Chinese inspiration. Today, these beautiful storefronts have become the meeting place of Taiwanese youth who meet in the evening in the many cafes and bars of this district. Do not miss the beautiful temples of Taiwan. Often places of commemoration or prayers… You will obviously see them in every city.
Taiwan is one of the most famous tea producers in the world, especially Oolong, which is – in short – a semi-fermented tea, between green and black tea. You can taste it in the Alishan region where a famous tea is produced, plucked and roasted at more than 2,000 meters.
And if you can’t go and enjoy the tea there, you can always do it in a tea bar in the middle of Taipei. There, tea is served in stemmed glasses, like a wine that is tasted!
You can also walk through a tea plantation or among beautiful cherry trees. Si vous avez la chance d’y aller en février ou en mars, alors vous aurez la chance de voir la floraison. There are several places known for this. In the Alishan region, in particular. But also around Taipei, in Yangmingshan National Park (around Zhu Zihu road).
