Campus
UCAM’s Jeronimos Campus is divided into two parts :
- The monastery where you find the departments of the faculties, the library, the general secretariat and the church ;
- The buildings around the Monastery where the classrooms are located, as well as the cafeterias and the UCAM shop.
You can enjoy two cafeterias on campus, the larger one located in the main square of the “Plaza de las Pérgolas” where there is also a self-service with very cheap prices, the other cafeteria located behind building 7.
Students can also use microwaves if they want to bring their own meals.
To discover
The Los Jerónimos Campus is located in Murcia, the capital of south-eastern Spain.
It is located in the middle of the “Huerta Murciana”, the orchard of Murcia, which is how the areas outside of towns in this region are called due to the amount of fruits and vegetables that are grown.
The legacy of Spanish culture, known for flamenco, tapas and fiesta, is present thanks to people from Murcia who are welcoming, warm, enthusiastic and sociable, as you will be able to notice on campus by interacting with the “Murcianicos”. which is their nickname in the Murcian dialect.
Good to know
UCAM represents a unique institution since it is built around a monastery from 1648. Until 1820, the “Jeronimos Orden” of the Catholic Church lived in the monastery, until it was closed and acquired by the government.
From that time until the 20th century, the monastery was a psychiatric hospital during the cholera pandemic and then was abandoned and left in poor condition.
Finally, the Catholic Church gave the monastery to the Fundación San Antonio in order to create the University in 1996.
The number of places in Erasmus + is limited. The granting of a scholarship is therefore not automatic and the amount paid may vary. Please refer to the Erasmus+ section. If all Erasmus + places are taken, this destination may still be offered to you under a paid agreement.
