Université du Québec à Chicoutimi

Strengths
Quebec is the capital of the world for snow and a city like its inhabitants : warm and open. It is not the harshness of winter that prevents popular traditions from being expressed, especially during the famous winter carnival in February.

To discover
As everywhere in Canada, nature is present for walks and hikes, kayaking on the Blue Corridor of the Magog River and you may be able, depending on the season, to discover the pleasures of “fat bike” on snow.
The city of Chicoutimi is renowned for its pulp mill, a former Saguenay wood pulp factory.
Good to know
You will not be surprised during your stay to be recognized as French and called out as “cousins” by Quebecers who are always very welcoming and sociable.
Jean-Lesage de Québec is the closest airport. You will then have to take a bus to get to Chicoutimi. Duration of travel : 2h30-3h00. Cost: CA $ 47.32 (with your student card).
