Founded in 1891, the University of Gothenburg has more than 47,000 students. It is one of the best universities in Sweden.

Campus
The campus is located near Gothenburg’s city center.
The campus is “green campus” certified : everything here is done to make it an eco-responsible environment.
You will the option of buying food or reheating whatever you bring at the Gothenburg University restaurants. The restaurants also serve snacks. Each restaurant has refrigerators to store your food and microwave ovens to reheat it.

Gothenburg is the 2nd largest city in Sweden after Stockholm. The city has 570,000 inhabitants and 1,000,000 including the suburbs.
The city combines tradition and modernity. It is known as a pleasant place to live, with many restaurants and bars, but also an important music scene.
The city is close to the coast. A ferry can take you to Copenhagen in 4 hours.

Procedures
ID Card or passport (compulsory for destinations outside the EU) valid for six months after your return date.
European Health Insurance Card is compulsory to join the classes.
For students from outside the EU, as long as you have your French residence permit, you only need to apply for an entry permit.

Accommodation
In student residences. Plan between SEK 3,800 and SEK 5,700 / month (€360 €540 / month) according to the residence and type of room. All bedrooms have at least a separated shower and are furnished. The rent includes electricity, water, internet access and laundry facilities. Most of the accommodations are studios and some are shared flats.
Accommodation available from August 22 for the Fall semester and from January 15 for the Spring semester.
Accommodation on campus is not guaranteed.
